CLIMATE action group, Otley 2030, is inviting young people in Otley to engage in a series of workshops over the summer holidays which will result in a Youth Climate Manifesto, which can be presented to local politicians and the media.

The workshops will take place online on August 8, 15, 22 and 29 with each session lasting approximately one hour

The workshops will consist of a short presentation from members of Otley 2030 and local experts in sustainability. The students will then have chance to work together to come up with their own plans. The sessions are available to anybody of secondary school age and attendance at all of them isn’t compulsory, so if you’re going on holiday, don’t worry about missing a session or two.

Andrew Howarth, Otley 2030 community development lead, who will be leading the workshops, said: “This is a great chance for us to hear what young people in Otley really want for the future of the town, and also a wonderful opportunity for those students to learn a bit more about sustainability and produce something that they can be proud of.”

If you are interested in joining these sessions, please get permission from your parents/carers, then send an email to hello@otley2030.com before Sunday, August 7.
