AFTER two years without a permanent minister, Otley and Pool Methodist churches will have a new minister from the beginning of September.

Cameron Stirk is moving from his current role as a minister in the Barnsley Circuit. As well as being minister for the two churches, Cameron will also be involved with the Wharfedale & Aireborough Methodist Circuit as Circuit Mission Enabler.

Cameron was born in Skipton and has lived in various parts of the North West and Yorkshire including Warrington, Blackburn and Bradford, where he gained his first degree reading Chemistry. After University he became the Youth & Community Worker at Christchurch, Ilkley before training for the Methodist ministry at Hartley Victoria College, Manchester.

His probationary appointment was in the Liverpool North Circuit, his second appointment was in Haxby & Wigginton in the York North Circuit, and he has just completed 11 years of service in the Barnsley Circuit.

Cameron is married to Lucy, and they have three grown up boys, one working in Leeds and two studying at university.

He loves being a minister; enjoys leading worship, making faith accessible and relevant, leading courses and groups, and encouraging others to live out their faith in their community and the world.
