A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "This morning officers from your local NPT carried out speed checks around St Oswald's Primary School, following complaints about speeding vehicles around school starting times. 18 vehicles were found to be exceeding the 20mph limit and these drivers will be hearing from us in short order.

"We have also attended Hawksworth Primary School, following reports of dangerous parking, where two Fixed-Penalty-Notices were issued for obstruction of a pavement.

"Additionally a vehicle was recovered from Moorland Crescent, where it had been abandoned for several weeks causing an obstruction to the pavement."
