AN ILKLEY firm has made a generous donation to send hundreds of football shirts to help children in Malawi.
Pendle Sportswear, located on Little Lane, Ilkley has donated more than 600 football shirts to Changing Stars Malawi, a Leeds based charity which strives to educate Malawian children and give them a life that they deserve.
The 600 football shirts will be flown to Malawi on Friday 1 July, ready to be distributed to communities and schools.
Charlie Dawson, 25, who is from Adel, and founded the charity four years ago said: “It’s thanks to companies like Pendle that we can help out these communities.
“For Pendle to make this donation to us is just insane, it’s amazing as we rely completely on donations.
“We’re taking out a lot of this kit and we’re going to be distributing the kit out to local groups fairly.”
“I’m sure it will be put to good use by youth football teams and schools over there.”
Pendle Sportswear has been selling football kits direct to grassroots clubs since 1977.
All Pendle products have been designed in house and manufactured to tight specifications by only the most trusted and long-established factories.
