FOLLOWING a three year absence due to Covid and the moorland fire, Ilkley's Easter morning "Son-Rise" service is back this year.
Run by Churches Together in Ilkley, Christians meet at the Cow and Calf rock at 6am on Easter Sunday morning, April 17, to watch the sunrise, and celebrate the resurrection.
David Callander, Minister at Ilkley Baptist Church, who is leading the service this year, says that everyone is welcome to join the celebration.
He said: "It is a very short service of praise to mark the most important day in the church calendar, combined with, hopefully, a spectacular morning view from our place on the rocks."
An outdoor service will also take place 7am on Easter Sunday on Otley Chevin, next to the cross which has been put in place at Surprise View.
The Cross is standing over Otley again this Easter after a two year break in tradition because of Covid.
Around 50 volunteers helped put the 36ft cross in position on Sunday, April 2 - in an event organised by Otley Churches Together.
The striking symbol has been put up at Easter almost every year since it was first introduced by the Otley Council of Christian Churches in 1969.
