AN OTLEY church has raised more than £1,100 for aid to Ukraine.
At recent Sunday morning family services, members and friends of the Bridge United Reformed Church on Bridge Street have been remembering the people of Ukraine and praying for a peaceful outcome to the war.
The Bridge Church has also held a retiring collection for the Christian Aid Ukraine Appeal over the last two weeks making the total of £1,107 which will be passed to the appeal in the coming days.
A spokesperson for the Bridge Church said that they were pleased to be able to offer some financial support to the Christian Aid Appeal. The appeal is working with three partner organisations in the ACT Alliance - Hungarian Interchurch Aid (HIA) in Ukraine and Hungary, the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) in Poland, and Swiss Church Aid (HEKS) in Ukraine, Hungary and Romania - to offer assistance to internally displaced peoples and to refugees.
