MOORFIELD School and Nursery in Ilkley is celebrating after a recent inspection rated them ‘excellent’ across all areas of the school, including educational quality, achievement and the personal development of the children. This is the highest rating for independent schools.

Inspectors from the Independent Schools Inspectorate were full of praise for the children and found them ‘enthusiastic, committed and engaged learners who speak with great pride and passion for their school’.

The inspection report glows with positive comments about the educational quality, where children attributed their achievements ‘to the high levels of challenge and support within lessons’ which fulfils the school’s ‘aim of providing excellence in education’.

Mrs Tina Herbert, Head of Moorfield said: "We are absolutely delighted with the inspection report which recognises the impact of a highly creative and academic curriculum, catering for individual needs and the significant emphasis we place on nurturing and celebrating each child. Every single member of staff should be congratulated for this achievement, not only gaining an ‘excellent’ rating in the inspection, but working at an outstanding level every single day’.
