A MAN who completed a skydive to raise money for Parkinson's UK has embarked on another challenge to raise awareness of the disease.

Arthington resident Hugh Robinson completed a sky dive in 2020 after his diagnosis the previous year. Now he has signed up to Neuro Heroes Stand up to Parkinson's challenge. https://www.neuroheroes.co.uk/sit2stand.

The challenge aims to complete 145,000 sit to stands to raise awareness of how targeted exercise can help with the symptoms and progression of Parkinson's. Hugh has set a target of 2022 sit to stands before the end of January.

Hugh is on the committee of the Leeds branch of Parkinson's UK which offers discounted exercise classes, including one at Otley Scout Hut, Burras Lane on Tuesdays from 2pm to 3.15pm. The exercise is mainly chair based and aimed at people with Parkinson's and other neurological conditions. Carers are welcome. The cost is £5.
