ILKLEY Chamber Choir Pinsuti will be singing at its Christmas concert in the wonderful acoustic of Kirkby Malham church, nestled in the Dales on Saturday, December 11 at 7pm.

The choir will be singing a range of music, including some choral favourites: the centuries-old “In Dulci Jubilo” and “Es ist ein Ros’ entsprungen” by Praetorius, with well-known carols “God rest you merry, gentlemen” and “The Infant King”, and then moving across the Atlantic to enjoy some American carols in quite different styles.

There will also be more modern music, some relatively well known, such as Warlock's “Bethlehem Down”, and some music written in the last few years, including an arrangement of the “Sussex Carol” by previous Musical Director, the late Michael Howell; "A Spotless Rose" by current Musical Director Robert Webb; Lauridsen's fabulous "O Nata Lux"; and two very recently composed Christmas works by Matthew Oglesby.

Tickets are £10 to include a drink at the interval and can be purchased in advance from eventbrite (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/heavns-moving-light-a-delight-of-christmas-music-from-the-us-and-the-uk-tickets-191940458077) or on the door.

The church postcode is BD23 4BS. Parking is available in the church car park and on-street, and the church has disabled access. Doors open at 6.30pm. Any enquiries to Revd Sue McWhinney who can be contacted at: Sue.McWhinney@leeds.anglican.org
