THE community in Blubberhouses are hosting a Christmas Tree Festival in St Andrew’s Church, on the hill, just off the A59.

There will be a free and warm welcome to view the skills of decorations as the shortest day approaches. The Festival is on the first two weekends in December, open from 11am to 4pm each Saturday and Sunday, December 4th and 5th and 11th and 12th.

A spokesperson said: “It will make a great place to enjoy festive refreshments for those walking, running, cycling or travelling by car. The church has undergone significant renovations and stands as a beacon of hospitality, light and hope above the beautiful Fewston reservoir.”

Also this week on Friday and Saturday there will be a Christmas Market from 11am to 4pm at Fewston Church. Hundreds of home- made products will be on sale, including gins and liqueurs, jams and preserves, oils and vinegars, cakes and chocolates, hand- crafted wreaths, decorations and much, much more. There will be carol singing and mulled wine and a festive menu in the tea room. Come and join us to start your Christmas off in style!
