AIREBOROUGH Rotarians planted trees in Nunroyd Park in Guiseley on Saturday.
A team of ten Rotarians, led by Community Chair Sally Mohan, carried out the environmental project. They planted 30 saplings, including flowering cherry and silver birch, provided by the Woodland Trust, to the twenty flourishing young trees planted in the park two years ago.
Sally also recently organised a sponsored walk with her dog Jake around the three parks in Guiseley, Rawdon and Horsforth plus Yeadon Tarn. The event was the fourth 'Jakethon’ raising funds for local charities. Sally was joined on the first circuit by Robert and Pat Mirfield with Graham and Morag Davies with Dash completing the entire walk. Winner of the prize for guessing the correct time the walk took was President Raj Mani, only a handful of minutes away from the finishing time of 2 hours 5 minutes. The walk raised more than £150 for the club’s funds for local charities.
