GOVERNMENT changes to the green and red travel lists are being welcomed by Leeds Bradford Airport.

A spokesperson for LBA said: “Today’s announcement is another positive step for the travel industry and we’re delighted to announce that all flights at LBA will be on the UK’s Green List.

“We want to assure passengers that travelling through LBA is a simple and easy process, especially given the revised status of many of our popular holiday destinations. We can’t wait to welcome everybody back as Yorkshire’s airport.”

On Monday 47 countries were taken off the red list, meaning travellers arriving from there will no longer have to spend time in a quarantine hotel.

The decision to remove them from the list has opened up travel to a number of long-haul destinations including South Africa, Brazil, Argentina and Mexico.

The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office has also lifted advice against non-essential travel to a further 42 countries and territories. The number of red list countries has been cut to seven.
