YOUNGSTERS at Askwith Primary School have given a harvest feel to the village phone box.
The phone box was given new lease of life earlier this year after being adopted by villagers. It is now being used as a pop-up space for exhibitions, cake sales, free book exchange and other community activities. The first exhibition was a representation of Askwith Show, which had to be cancelled again this year. The box was decorated by the pupils of Askwith Primary School and Nursery.
A spokesperson for the residents who have adopted the box said: “Once again the school have brought their imagination and a glorious range of colours to celebrate the coming of Autumn. "
Residents made donations to a fund for the upkeep of the box which, along with a substantial donation from the committee of Askwith and District Show, allowed for the box to be repaired, painted and have new lighting fitted.
