THE headteacher of Guiseley School has congratulated the Year 13 cohort who received their A Level and vocational results this week.

Headteacher Mr Paul Clayton said: "We are incredibly proud of all our students who have shown such incredible commitment to and engagement with their studies. The last two years have been unlike anything they have ever experienced and their dedication and agility as they moved between learning in school and learning and on line can only be commended. Their resilience has paid off with students being accepted into a number of top Universities including Oxford, Durham, Leeds, Manchester, York, Lancaster, Newcastle and many more.

"Amongst the outstanding achievements we have three students accepted into Veterinary studies, two into Medicine and one into Dentistry as well as a range of other subjects including English Language, English Literature, Maths, Engineering, Theoretical Physics, Modern Foreign Languages, Neuroscience, Music and Sound Recording, History, Law and Philosophy, Politics and Economics. Whilst the vast majority of students are continuing their education at university or college, others have secured higher level apprenticeships and employment.

"We wish the Year 13 students of 2021 the best of luck for their future studies and endeavours."
