HORSFORTH School is celebrating some outstanding achievements by its students in their A Levels and other qualifications this summer.

Individual standout successes for students with bright futures include three students who all achieved A* grades and will go on to study at Oxbridge. Thomas will study Natural Sciences at Cambridge, Dylan will study Engineering at Oxford and Lizzie will go to Oxford to study History and Politics. Another fantastic set of results came from Zara who gained an A* at A Level and two Distinction* at BTEC Level 3 and will study a Design Foundation Year at Northumbria University. Other students are looking forward to study Psychology, Law and Chemical Physics to name a few.

This year, following the cancellation of exams, grades were awarded through a process of teacher assessed grades, against a national standard and approved and awarded by the exam boards. The government is not publishing performance data for any schools or colleges this year due to the varying impact of the pandemic.

Dr. Paul Bell, the school’s Headteacher said: “We are immensely proud of all the work and achievements of our students, especially after such a difficult and disrupted year. Our teachers have worked tirelessly to ensure students are all able to progress onto further education and study, and we wish them all the very best of luck for the future.”
