DR CLIVE Barrett, Chair of the Board of the Peace Museum in Bradford, was one of the online speakers at the Independence from America Day webinar, organised by the Menwith Hill Accountability Campaign on the 4th of July.

Dr Barrett talked about the work of the Peace Museum and in particular the new digital exhibition ‘Bombs…Away!’ This exhibition explores the issue of aerial bombardment and uses The Peace Museum’s unique collection to examine both the impact of civilian bombing on society and the peace campaigns that have formed in response.

The exhibition was supposed to launch at the museum in May 2020, but was delayed due to the covid-19 pandemic. It is now available as a digital exhibition. It has been possible thanks to funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. It can be viewed at https://www.bombsawayexhibition.com/

Several supporters of the Menwith Hill Accountability Campaign braved heavy rain and thunderstorms to give a presence at the main gate of the Base at Menwith Hill and formed a live link with the webinar. They presented a letter inviting the Chief of Station to contribute to the webinar.
