A NEW rockery at the entrance to Rawdon village has been planted up.
The attractive new feature is already proving a hit with local people and passers-by.
Phil Gomersall from Rawdon in Bloom said: "Volunteers were out on Saturday planting up with plants that have mostly been grown in house, unlike most other In-Bloom-Groups, which is a much more sustainable approach.
"It was very gratifying as many cars passed by complimentary comments were shouted out.
"Although the rockery will require maintenance, additional perennial plants will be added later to reduce the maintenance time required, allowing more time for additional future projects around the village to be undertaken.
"There are still another three entrances to the village to consider."
