A NUTRITIONIST and a professional chef, both based in Pool in Wharfedale, have launched the country’s first digital subscription service that marries healthy eating, tasty recipes, nutrition advice, guidance on cooking skills, and lifestyle tips, all in one place.

Elevated Food For Life (https://iamelevated.co.uk) – available via a monthly digital subscription – brings together the skills of clinical nutritionist, health coach and ultramarathon runner James Ellis, and professional chef, former development chef at M&S, serial restaurateur and now industry consultant Jason Shaw.

The pair have combined their 55 years-plus experience in the food, nutrition, health and fitness industries to provide an eating and lifestyle programme that aims to inspire and inform without confusing and overwhelming.

With new recipes being added to the site on a monthly basis, users will be able to gradually build up their portfolio of tasty recipes, nutritional knowledge and kitchen skills to help provide family meals, new takes on old classics, and high-end dishes that can not only be enjoyed by all, but that will be nutrient dense and bursting with flavour.

The recipes sit alongside step-by-step technique videos for enhancing kitchen skills, tips for sourcing ingredients, articles that demystify nutrition. and lifestyle hacks designed to increase energy levels, optimise digestion, enhance the microbiome and support immune function.

Subscribers also get additional extras such as access to a private Facebook group, a monthly ‘Ask Us Anything’ Q&A with Jason and James on Facebook Live and regular surprise content.

A series of ‘Brilliant Base’ recipes, where the harder yards can be put in at weekends, can be spun off throughout the week to create super-healthy simple dishes in minutes, making for big savings on time with no loss of flavour or nutritional content.

Membership of Elevated Food For Life costs 99p for the first month, then £7.99 for each subsequent month. Members receive at least five new video recipes and two articles on nutrition per month, access to all the Brilliant Base recipes, regular skills tips videos, simple lifestyle tips and hacks, Facebook group membership, sourcing tips, and access to all the site’s past content. Now in month two, that past content includes more than 40 recipes all with tutorial videos, 15 skills videos and almost 20 articles on nutrition.

James Ellis said: “Elevated” was born out of Lockdown 1.0 when we realised the time had come to create something that we are both really passionate about. As we both have young families, we wanted to create recipes that could be enjoyed by everyone and most critically, maximise the nutritional value of the ingredients used.

"Elevated is designed to grow with our members on a monthly basis. Thanks to the regular addition of recipes and articles that build on entries from previous months, our subscribers can ensure that healthy eating becomes a lifelong habit rather than a quick-fix fad.”

Jason Shaw said: “We are taking my years of experience driving culinary excellence, technical insights and proven cooking methods, focussing in on taste, texture and presentation, all aligned to James’s knowledge of functional nutrition, health, fitness and general wellbeing.

"Our three covenants are straightforward: recipes must be ‘tasty, functional and simple to execute’, accessible for anyone from a novice home cook to a fervent foodie.”
