THE Quaid-e-Azam Premier League are extending their matches now that Ramadan has finished.
Previously matches were 35 overs per side, but from Sunday (May 16) the length of an innings is being increased by five overs.
A league statement says: “Playing the first four matches of the season during the month of Ramadan has taken a toll on players, even after reducing the overs to 35.
“From this Sunday (May 16), the number of overs will increase to 40 to continue accommodating hygiene breaks, and the (bonus) points system has been adjusted by 1o runs to reflect the change.”
Only two games started last Sunday because of waterlogged pitches, with each resulting in one-wicket victories – Whiterose over Bhalot and Yorkshire Lions over Scouthill.
