AN Ilkley man is running 10k a day in May to raise money for the charity Hope for Tomorrow.

Michael Pidd is taking on the challenge to mark the second anniversary since his partner Amy lost her dad Philip Baxter to cancer. Philip was well known in Ilkley having worked at numerous restaurants and hotels in the area including the Cow and Calf and the tennis club.

Michael said: “I will be running a total of 310km and hope to raise as much money as possible for the charity.

“Hope for Tomorrow are a dedicated charity bringing cancer care closer to patients’ homes via their Mobile Cancer Care Units (MCCUs). Working in a unique partnership with the NHS, they have 10 MCCUs operational nationwide including at Airedale General Hospital.”
