ONE of Yeadon's oldest residents left a lasting legacy in an online audio archive.
Elsa Marks was 99 when she gave an interview to the Back-Chat Collection in August 2019. Historian Carlo Harrison had intended to complete the interview when Elsa was 100 years old in January 2020, but that was prevented by Covid.
Elsa, who was born in Yeadon, died in February this year but her memories can now be heard in the audio collection.
Carlo said:"We have vivid memories of the flying circus at Yeadon airport, the problems of organising dance venues and Frankie Vaughn."
He added: "Have a listen to this lady who lived her life in a different era to most of us."
Elsa's interview can be found at https://back-chat.org.uk/default.aspx.
