FUNDING has been found for repair work to footpaths at Yeadon's Engine Field Park after an approach to the area's three ward councillors.

"This area is an undiscovered gem of a park at one end of the popular footpath which links Yeadon and Guiseley via the old railway line", said Cllr Sandy Lay. "Parts of the path network have been damaged and we were approached to see if funding was available for repairs. Luckily there was a pot of Covid 19 money to encourage people to exercise which was not spent. It would have been lost had we had not grabbed it for Yeadon".

"This is a great natural area in the middle of Aireborough and the works should make it easier for all groups to use the path", said Cllr Colin Campbell. "The Council has promised to prioritise the work once the busy spring period for the Parks Department is out of the way".

“Friends of Engine Fields also welcome these improvements saying many of our visitors use this path to reach Engine Fields and this will allow easy access free from traffic to residents in St Johns, Westfield, New Scarboro’ and Guiseley."
