A BIGGER, better and bolder website all about wildlife in and around Otley has been launched by community group Wildlife Friendly Otley.

The existing site had been redesigned and expanded to include several new attractions, such as a new Kids Area and enlarged sections on news, advice and detailed information for anyone wanting to know more about the varied wildlife in and around the town.

The Kids Area includes a Wildlife Challenge with different wildlife species for children to spot each month and collect points. There are also animal pictures for colouring in and a quiz which can be downloaded, plus a special section with children’s books on nature and wildlife.

Popular items such as the Seen in Otley, Species of the Month and the My Pledge for Wildlife campaign have been redesigned plus the addition of a new information section about the proposed East of Otley development which threatens local wildlife.

Otley-based design and communications agency, The Yorkshire Wordwright, redesigned the whole site and made it more attractive and easier to navigate.

“ We are delighted with the new look of the site and the creative input from Yorkshire Wordwright,” said River Six of Wildlife Friendly Otley who managed the project.

“The new site is brighter, more colourful and packed with interesting and useful information and advice to help people and organisations in Otley to be more wildlife friendly,” said group co-founder Andrew McKeon.

“The new Kids Area is part of a wider campaign to reach out to children who find all sorts of wildlife fascinating. There are lots of ways shown both to enjoy and help wildlife.”

The new site has an unchanged web address www.wildlifefriendlyotley.org.uk
