Speed checks were carried out by police yesterday
A DRIVER was pulled over by police yesterday after being caught travelling at twice the speed limit.
West Yorkshire Police - Leeds North West conducted speed checks yesterday afternoon and evening in Guiseley, Yeadon and Adel.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "A number of motorists were pulled over and spoken to in regards to their speed, with tickets issued where necessary.
"The highest speeder was seen to travel at a staggering 81mph in a 40mph zone. The consequences of driving at a speed like this could have been devastating for all involved. The driver will have chance to explain their actions in court."
