A YEADON tip is to close for a day to allow road resurfacing to be carried out.

Milner’s Road Household Waste Recycling Centre will be closed on Sunday, April 18. The booking system will be amended so that no slots will be available at the HWRC for the day.

The works are scheduled to take one day and facilities should be open as normal from April 19.

Guiseley and Rawdon councillor Paul Wadsworth, Shadow Spokesperson for Environmental Services, said:“Many local residents have contacted me about the general condition of this road including the numerous potholes. I am extremely pleased to see that the decision has been made to get this resolved later this month.

“It is a vital piece of maintenance that must be done. There is no other way to carry out the work other than to close the HWRC for a day while it is completed. But the results should make this slight inconvenience worth the wait. Residents may want to either book a slot avoiding the 18th or use one of the city’s alternative HWRCs, such as Ellar Ghyll or Kirkstall.”
