TWO Ilkley residents have been selected by the Conservatives to stand in the May 6 local elections. David Nunns, a resident of Ben Rhydding for the last 40 years, is standing for the Bradford Council elections. Running for Ilkley Town Council is Andrew Loy, a recent Oxford University graduate, born and bred in town.
David said: “I want to stand in the forthcoming Council elections, to try and ensure that Ilkley remains a vibrant town.
“It must retain the local businesses which the community has come to rely on, as many of the smaller businesses are now starting to decline at the expense of the corporate brands.”
Andrew said: “I am keen to make sure residents’ voices are heard and that we get value for money from the Town Council.”
Councillor Kyle Green ( Conservative, Ilkley) praised both candidates for standing for election.
