FOLLOWING the popularity of their Valentine’s Day food boxes, local tapas restaurant La Casita is offering the cook-at-home food boxes again, this time for Mother’s Day. Head Chef and co-founder Simon Miller said: “The Valentine’s Day food boxes went down well and gave people a boost in lockdown, we really enjoyed putting the boxes together too, they definitely kept us busy for a few days!” The Mother’s Day food box is a similar idea, a set menu of six tapas dishes, one dessert per person and one small bottle of fizz for mum. The meals are pre-prepared and come with full instructions for people to finish the cooking at home. Simon predicts a cooking time of 30 minutes depending on how adept you are in the kitchen. “Feedback from our Valentine’s Day food boxes was that people felt like proper chefs and really enjoyed seeing how the different flavours worked together. Hopefully it will give people more confidence to try new flavours when cooking at home. It’s hoped offering these food boxes will help La Casita come out of the pandemic on the other side,” added Simon. There are options for food boxes for two, four and six people starting from £65, they’re delivered to your door for free within a five-mile radius of La Casita restaurants. They can be ordered by emailing info@littlehouseoftapas.co.uk before March 7.
