POLICE carried out enhanced patrols in Guiseley, Menston, Yeadon and Hawksworth yesterday in response to concerns raised by the communities.
Officers from the Leeds North Neighbourhood Policing Team visited Netherfield Road, Oxford Road, Ings Lane and Hawksworth Lane, with extra attention given to the section surrounding Hawksworth Primary School, as this road is very narrow.
Results included:
- A vehicle being seized for no insurance (the driver was also given a ticket for not wearing their seatbelt).
- A ticket being given for using a mobile phone whilst driving.
- A vehicle defect rectification notice for illegal number plates.
- A ticket for driving whilst not in proper control of a motor vehicle.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "All of the above actions were very easily avoidable and hopefully the action taken will change the habits of those drivers."
