HEARTFELT tributes have been paid to a young woman tragically killed in a horror crash on the A58 in Addingham last Thursday (February 18).

It prompted a huge response from emergency services and sadly a man and woman, both in their 20s, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Tributes have now been paid to Maisie Ryan, originally from Derby, and a Just Giving page set up in her memory has already raised more than £10,000.

It says: "We’ve set up this page for our beautiful, kind, caring and sensitive friend Maisie who was tragically killed in a road traffic accident on February 18th 2021.

"Maisie spent her life caring for others and worked so hard to become the brilliant doctor she was, a job that she loved.

"Anthony Nolan was a charity close to Maisie’s heart, and one which she worked with throughout her medical training and beyond.

"We would like to use this page as a means of continuing the wonderful work Maisie was a part of, and as a way of sharing happy memories and celebrating all that Maisie was. She was a friend to all that knew her, and this is a loss to this world that will be felt by many."

One comment on the page said: "The kindest, most inspirational young woman. She will be so missed!"

Another said: "Incredibly sorry to hear of this tragedy. A kind soul, liked by all."

While another person said: "Such a tragic loss. Pink crocs, scrubs, so eager to learn and develop, nothing ever too much trouble no matter how busy she was. Gone far too soon. Thoughts are with her family xxx."
