OTLEY'S MP is calling for key workers to be prioritised for the Covid-19 jab.
Labour MP Alex Sobel is also stressing the need for everyone to accept the vaccine when it is their turn.
Writing in a New Year newsletter Mr Sobel said: "The approval of the Moderna vaccine is good news and Oxford-AstraZenica vaccine was rolled out on Monday. We must now ensure that the necessary logistics are in place to vaccinate Britain. Elland Road will be the mass vaccination centre for Leeds and I’m grateful to Leeds United and its Chairman, Andrea Radrizzani for setting it up so quickly. We must make sure that our key workers, be that NHS or care staff, school staff, social workers, police officers or those in the service industry are prioritised and given the vaccine at the earliest opportunity. We also all have a responsibility to promote and champion vaccination as the route out of this pandemic. So please tell your friends and neighbours that you will be getting the vaccine when it is your turn."
