THE MAN behind Burley-in-Wharfedale's Christmas lights is thanking everyone who helped make the display possible.
Tom Sumner who has organised the village's festive lights displays for decades said: "The Christmas lights are over for another year and I would like to thank Burley Community Trust and the Parish Council for their funding . With a special mention to the volunteers that came out in all weathers to put them up and take them down in these strange and difficult times.
"We appreciate comments that we have received from far and wide on social media.
This year we have fully lit up Grange Park with lights through the trees to make a dark area more cheerful and pleasant to walk through at night. We have received lots of comments from people in the village so have decided to leave the lights on in this area till March . Keep safe keep your distance and enjoy. Let's hope for a better 2021."
