ILKLEY’S MP is calling on the Government to ‘go further’ with its Green Homes Grant.
The voucher scheme provides financial help to support work that makes homes more energy efficient, with the Government covering at least two thirds of the cost.
Robbie Moore (Con, Keighley) supports the initiative but has written to the Business Secretary, Alok Sharma, to ask for improvements.
Mr Moore would like to see:
*The scheme updated to allow residents to apply for funding to upgrade from single glazing to double glazing
*More suppliers invited to join so that residents in Keighley and Ilkley have better access
*Bradford District Council to re-apply to the scheme for further funding
His letter concludes: “As we recover from the coronavirus we need to build back greener. The Green Homes Grant is an excellent scheme but it needs to go further to ensure it is accessible to even more of my constituents.”
