A BRADFORD school's policy was called into question after two cases of Covid-19 were reported in a year group.

A parent was concerned their child was not asked to self-isolate after coming in contact with two children in Year 10 who had tested positive at Hanson School.

The school sent a text to the parent saying it had "followed information from Public Health England and pursued all track/trace as per guidance.

"Each case is responded to individually dependent upon circumstances. Your child should be in school unless they have been contacted directly by the school."

A Bradford Council spokesperson said: “All schools have protective measures in place in line with national government guidance to reduce the spread of the virus. Schools also have robust systems in place to report any positive cases. Close contacts are identified and told to self-isolate and parents given advice and support. Schools have access to support from Bradford Council and public health experts throughout the process.

“Schools have plans in place to deliver home learning to any children who are self-isolating. We will continue to support our schools to operate in the safest possible way through the pandemic.”
