POLICE are investigating two burglaries at Pool-in-Wharfedale.

Two intruders entered a house on Swallow Drive through an unlocked back door on Tuesday, October 6.

They were in the property between 8.40pm and 8.44pm but were quickly disturbed by the occupants.

The suspects made off in a waiting vehicle that was parked on the street.

The second break-in took place between 1.30pm and 5.30pm the following day - Wednesday, October 7 - on Pool Road.

A suspect or suspects had gained entry to the building through a rear, glass door after smashing a window with a stone to reach in and use a key.

Once inside they conducted an untidy search of the home.

The intruders are believed to have then left with the resident’s spare car keys, taken from a downstairs study.

Information about both incidents are recorded in the latest acquisitive crime figures - covering the period from October 1 to October 10 - for the Adel and Wharfedale ward.
