ILKLEY Camera Club welcomed Pat Couder to judge the annual digital competition for the Open Colour A C M Duncan Trophy.

A Zoom meeting of around 40 participants saw Pat give a wealth of tips and helpful comments as she took the members through a wide range of images. The spread included still life, landscape, street photography, nature and more. Pat said she had been impressed by the high standard of work submitted and that she’d found the judging a challenge with so many good images.

"I ummed and arred so much but I just had to go with it. It was a win-win situation," said Pat.

The club learned the way to Pat's heart was through visual triangles which she said always work well in an image.

Top prize in the competition was won by Len Downes for an image of two guitarists at a gig. A Northumbrian coast image by Peter Wilson took second place, while third prize went to Larry James for a dramatic nature shot of a frog. Other commended images were submitted by Geoffrey Smith, Stu Thompson, Sharon Sawyer, Larry James, Andree Freeman, Peter Wilson, and Andy Thomas. You can find the winning images on the Ilkley Camera Club Website at ilkleycameraclub.co.uk

The deadline for entering the next two competitions is Friday, October 9. The categories are Abstract and Food & Drink.

The next meeting on Friday, October 2 will be a members critique evening.
