WITH the current COVID-19 restrictions and schools being unable to host traditional open evenings, Benton Park School has embarked on a mission to provide parents and their children with the best experience of their school as they can, without them even stepping through the door.

The school’s Virtual Open Evening will replace their usual style of event, but with just as much enthusiasm and useful information as they have always had on offer. The evening will give the feel of a traditional face-to-face open evening, with the usual school tours and subject demonstrations, but in a very exciting and virtual way. Prospective parents and their children can enjoy a virtual school tour, watch special video messages from the school’s Headteacher, staff and students, try their hand at some subject-specific activities and have access to important information. They will also have the chance to have a first peek at what the new state of the art school building will look like when it opens its doors in Autumn 2021.

Delia Martin, Headteacher said: “Whilst I am disappointed not to be able to share a special Benton Park welcome in person with all our prospective new families, I am really excited at the prospect of our first ever Virtual Open Evening. It is a really exciting time for us as a school with our new build planned for next year and we are working hard to ensure that parents and students get just as much information from our virtual event to enable them to make that all important decision of choosing a secondary school. The students joining us next September will be our first ever year group into our new build which will be incredibly special for them.”

Benton Park School’s Virtual Open Event will take place on Wednesday 7th October, from 5:30pm.
