A ‘SUPPORT cafe’ for anyone experiencing mental health problems is being relaunched online.
Shawmind started its Breathe Cafe in Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire in 2019 as a safe space where people could go to seek mental health advice and a chat.
But the coronavirus pandemic has forced the charity to rethink the initiative - and it will now be run as a virtual, and national, project.
Those who register will be welcomed and encouraged to talk through their feelings, thoughts and worries with experienced volunteers who will be able to point them towards further support services.
Charity Manager at Shawmind, Su Hallam, said: “I’m really looking forward to taking the group online, so we can offer our support to people all over the UK.”
The cafes will be held via Zoom once a fortnight. For more details visit www.shawmind.org.
