A NEW Food and Drink Market is coming to Yeadon Town Hall in October.

Yeadon Community Market was launched in September and will take place on the first weekend of every month.

September’s arts, crafts and jewellery extravaganza provided a range of trinkets and treats from market traders.

Now a food and drink market will be held on Saturday October 3 and Sunday October 4. A range of stallholders will display homemade goods, tasty bakes and savoury snacks.

The food and drink market will be open from 10am to 4pm each day, with entry costing £1.Yeadon’s Town Hall Tavern will also be open between 12pm and 6pm each day. The tavern’s normal opening hours are between 7pm and 11pm every Friday and Saturday.

Jamie Hudson, CEO at Yeadon Town Hall, said: “Finding a way to bring community spirit and entertainment to the town during such challenging times has been tough, but our community markets have been a great success. Of course, there are additional safety measures in place and we’re asking all visitors to respect the rules and social distancing guidance. It’s just good to see people coming along to the Town Hall again and having a great time.”

A General Market will be staged at the town hall on Saturday November 7 and Sunday November 8. |

Yeadon Town Hall was taken over in April last year by a community interest company which set about staging a full schedule of performances and events - but coronavirus meant it had to postpone 2020 events to 2021.

A Covid-19 appeal on its website says: “As life returns to normal for some, sadly theatre and live music venues across the UK remain closed.

“We’ve set up an emergency appeal to plug our funding gap as we continue to navigate through uncertain time.

“Yeadon Town Hall solely operated on the income it made from ticket sales, however without live entertainment our income is near 0.

“Any help you can offer during this difficult time would be highly appreciated.”
