COMMUNITIES in Wharfedale and Aireborough are being invited to bid for Safer Communities Fund grants.
Awards of up to £6,000 per applicant are available, from a £140,000 pot, during the latest round of the scheme.
Launched by West Yorkshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner in 2014 the funding programme has to date given out about £3.4 million to more than 750 groups and projects.
The latest round welcomes initiatives that target any of the priorities in the commissioner’s Police and Crime Plan but also has a focus on supporting BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) communities and tackling hate crime.
The deadline for applications to the Safer Communities Fund is noon on Friday, October 16. For more details visit https://www.westyorkshire-pcc.gov.uk/safer-communities-fund/how-apply.
