GARDENERS in Keighley are being urged to enter Keighley Town Council's first competition for its best allotments.
The competition is open to anyone who tends an allotment managed by Keighley Town Council.
First prize winners in each of four categories will be given a one-hour gardening session in their allotment with award-winning gardener Steve Thorpe, who creates the floral displays in the town elsewhere.
There are prizes for the best allotment photo, the best new plot, the best young gardener aged under 12, and the best wildlife photo.
Councillor Luke Maunsell, chairman of the council's Allotments and Landscapes committee, said he was very much looking forward to the council's first Allotments Photo Award.
He said: "We have so many incredible tenants, on all our sites, who work around the clock to cultivate their land and make them outstanding. They very much deserve acknowledgment for their incredible effort and I wish them all the best of luck!"
Email sarah.kissack@keighley.gov.uk for information on how to enter. The closing date is November 2.
