OTLEY’S pubs have been praised for doing ‘a marvellous job’ since reopening.

Local inns, like those around the country, have been allowed to start serving again - while following strict regulations to prevent the spread of COVID-19 - since Saturday, July 4.

Otley Pub Club, in its latest newsletter, congratulate local businesses for how they have been operating since welcoming in members of the public again.

It said:” We have to say what a marvellous job our pubs have done in providing hand sanitisation, distancing signage and many other features to make themselves, their employees and of course, their customers as safe as possible.”

Most of the town’s pubs have now either reopened or are preparing to, although renovations are underway at some including Whitakers and Otley Tap House.

The Horse & Farrier and the Rose & Crown, meanwhile, remain closed.

A number of local inns are taking part in the national Eat Out to Help Out scheme which offers customers a 50 per cent discount - on food and soft drinks - when they dine out, between Monday and Wednesday, during August.
