AN Inner Wheel chairwoman has walked a total of 79 miles to raise money for a charity which helps unemployed women.
Pat Mirfield completed her challenge in aid of Smart Works, at Horsforth Hall Park on Sunday. She has undertaken the walk on 26 consecutive days beginning on July 1 and aiming for at least 2.6 miles per day. She is hoping that as many members as possible within her Inner Wheel district will contribute £2.60 by August 15.
Smart Works, Leeds is the eighth branch of a charity with a free referral service for unemployed women offering high quality clothing and coaching, helping them feel more confident and increasing their chances of getting jobs.
Pat’s walks have included Otley Chevin, Golden Acre Park, Harlow Carr Gardens, Harewood House, the Leeds Liverpool Canal, the River Aire, Yeadon Tarn and various parts of Horsforth.
