IT WAS a fun filled day at a Burley care home when a summer fair was staged to boost morale during lockdown.

Staff and residents at Burley Hall Bupa Care Home enjoyed activities designed to lift the spirits. Stalls included hoopla and tombola.

One resident,Teresa Copsey, said: “We had such a lovely day playing games. It was so nice to enjoy the sunny weather together. I even managed to win a prize after taking part in ‘sponging the staff’. It’s really put a smile on everyone’s face.”

Home manager Julie Robinson added: “The team here at Burley Hall pulled out all the stops into making it extra special, decorating the garden beautifully and setting up nostalgic fete stalls.

“We were extremely pleased to have had the support from our local community, who donated the prizes for the games and raffle, and to Soroptimist International of Ilkley for allowing us to use their handmade bunting”
