ISOLATED cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in two Otley primary schools.

Otley All Saints C of E Primary and The Whartons School are two of three Leeds schools to have had cases of the coronavirus confirmed by Leeds City Council, with the other being Roundhay School.

Leeds City Council’s Director of Children and Families, Saleem Tariq, said: “In two of the schools the pupil who tested positive had not been on site for more than 48 hours before they developed symptoms.

“Public Health England advice was that the ‘bubble’ in which the pupil was taught did not need to be collapsed and all other pupils were able to remain in school. In the other school the affected bubble has been collapsed.

“Children and staff within the affected bubble will stay at home and self-isolate for 14 days. All schools in Leeds have safety procedures in place to help limit the spread of the virus.”
