A FIVE-YEAR-OLD boy has raised nearly £500 for charity after cycling 90 miles in a month.

Danny Brewis, who goes to St Peter and Paul School in Yeadon, set out to raise funds for isolated older people after learning to ride his bike in May.

His mum Hanna said she was very proud of her son who had decided to help older people when he heard that some of them have not been able to get out during lockdown. She says he has often passed AVSED when he has been riding his bike in Nunroyd Park.

She said Danny had wanted to raise £90 for 90 miles - but the family had been amazed at the generosity of people donating - many of them strangers.

She said: “It has been really lovely - people have been really generous.”

Michelle Phillips, from Aireborough Voluntary Services to the Elderly, described Danny as “amazing” and a “wonderful champion.”
