AN ARMY veteran says Captain Tom Moore helped him "find his mojo" after giving up on being an artist.
Howard O'Brien gave up drawing three years ago but said he was inspired to pick up his pencil again after seeing Tom's fundraising success.
Howard said: "I was destined to create a drawing for such a great man. I would watch Captain Tom on the news and read about him on social media and jot ideas down.
"I missed his birthday deadline so kept on drawing each day during the lockdown. I have drawn Prince William in the past."
Howard, born in Yorkshire but now living in Dorchester, served in the Royal Tank Regiment, and was based at the same camp in Bovington where Captain – now Colonel – Tom was based.
The college picture mentions Tom being awarded the Freedom of Keighley.
