A SILENT charity auction by Ilkley artist Kwan Bevan has raised £600 for the NHS Hospital Heroes Covid 19 appeal.

The auction started on May 5 and ran for two weeks during which time the website was visited hundreds of times and bids were received for all eight paintings.

Of the eight paintings in the auction, ‘White Wells’ and ‘Two Girls’ proved to be the most popular. £125 was the winning bid for both paintings.

Kwan Bevan who organised the Silent Auction, thanked all the people who were interested in her work, and donated to the NHS Charity Fund. She especially thanked Olicana Bridge Club for hosting the event on their website. She also thanked both the Ilkley Gazette and Ilkley Chat for spreading awareness of the event amongst the local community. Kwan also gave special thanks to Tony Watson, the Chair of Olicana Bridge Club, who gave support and worked hard to help organise and update the bidding throughout the auction.
