AGE UK Bradford District has joined forces with other charities to ask the government for urgent funding and support during the Covid-19 crisis.

More than 300 MPs and Lords have signed a call to the Chancellor requesting urgent action on providing support to charities who are playing a crucial role in the national response to Coronavirus.

Mark Rounding, Chief Executive of Age UK Bradford District, said: "Charities need simple, substantial, emergency support now. I’ve written to local MPs to outline the financial impact of COVIDー19 on Age UK Bradford District and to ask for their support to get the help all charities need to deliver vital support to people and communities.

"The National Council for Voluntary Organisations, predicts that charities will miss out on a minimum of £4.3bn of income in the next 12 weeks.

"Age UK Bradford District, which is dependent on community support for so much of our income, is set to lose over £300,000 in income in the next 6 months.

"Our staff and volunteers are working hard and under challenging circumstances, providing vital support and information for some of the most vulnerable people in society at this incredibly difficult time for us all. Every day really does count."
