AN ACTRESS from Ilkley is performing in The Sound of Music at Bradford this week.

Nicole Farrar landed the role of Liesl in Ben Kenwright’s production of the evergreen musical in her first interview after graduating from drama school.

The show, billed as ‘a magnificent production to enchant and enthral the young and the young at heart’, is being presented at the Alhambra Theatre from Tuesday, February 25 to Saturday, February 29.

Liesl is the eldest of the Von Trapp children in the story about the famously musical Austrian family, and falls for a delivery boy - the romance is captured in the song Sixteen Going On Seventeen - who ends up joining the Nazi Party and betraying her.

Twenty one year old Nicole headed to London at the age of 16 to hone her dramatic talent, initially at Arts Educational School in Chiswick where she spent two years studying Performing Arts.

She then attended Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts for a three year degree.
