BRADFORD Council have announced that their grass sports pitches will remain closed this weekend.
It means numerous local league football teams will be kicking their heels for a third successive week, as more rain is set to hit after Storms Dennis and Ciara wreaked havoc earlier in the month.
A statement read: "All Bradford Council grass sports pitches will remain closed this weekend (Saturday, February 29, and Sunday, 1 March) as more rain is forecast to fall on to the already waterlogged ground.
"We are sorry for the inconvenience but allowing sporting fixtures to take place with the ground in this condition would result in serious damage to the turf.
"Hopefully, the weather and ground conditions will improve for next weekend to allow fixtures to take place."
